The problem with knowing later

When reusable Assets are issued quickly, spreadsheet updates and one-by-one scanning can lag behind the physical work. That creates a period where staff cannot confidently say what is still out or where to focus follow-up.

Ledger is designed to shorten that period of uncertainty.

A practical Issue and Return workflow

1. Begin with existing order or recipient information.
2. Scan RFID Tags as reusable Assets are issued.
3. Let the active workflow create the corresponding Allocation records.
4. Bulk-scan suitable Assets as they enter the return process.
5. Review what is returned, what remains outstanding and what needs investigation.

A Scan does not itself prove an Allocation or Return. The active Ledger workflow interprets the Scan in its operational context.

What improves

• Operational records are created closer to the physical movement.
• Staff can process suitable tagged Assets without checking every barcode individually.
• Outstanding Assets become visible sooner.
• Teams rely less on manual spreadsheet reconciliation.

What Ledger does not promise

Ledger does not guarantee that every Asset will return or classify an absent Asset as lost automatically. It provides a clearer operational position so staff can investigate sooner.
